What is SAAT?

What to Expect During Your SAAT for Alpha-Gal Journey
The SAAT process is straightforward and tailored specifically to you. I already have the necessary vials on hand, including the precise alpha-gal allergen, beef, pork, venison, and other mammalian triggers, so we can begin your treatment without delay.
1. Identifying Your Trigger
For Alpha-Gal, we know the primary trigger. During your appointment, I will use the specific alpha-gal vial to confirm the sensitivity and to locate the single, most electrically conductive point in your ear for treatment. This point is unique to your body and this specific allergen.
2. The Treatment
A single, hair-thin acupuncture needle is gently placed at that precise point in your ear. It is then covered with a small piece of medical tape. You’ll leave the office with the needle securely in place.
The needle will remain for approximately 3-4 weeks. During this time, you can bathe, exercise, and live your life normally. It’s a gentle, continuous treatment.
3. The Follow-Up
After about a month, you will remove the needle yourself—it's a simple and easy process that requires no special instructions. There is no need to return to the office for removal. We can follow up to discuss your progress and, if necessary, plan for treating other related sensitivities (like specific meats or dairy) in separate sessions to build comprehensive tolerance.
A Note on SAAT for Alpha-Gal: This treatment is designed to create a lasting change in your immune response. For the best and most durable results, it is crucial to follow the accompanying avoidance period until the needle is removed, allowing the "re-set" to fully integrate.
