Melody's Musings

Tauri's Birth Story as told by her:

"I had an amazing time before during and after birth.  On January 30th 2023, at 38 weeks pregnant, I had my doctor appointment for an NST and my baby was not meeting the basic level to pass the test. Prior, I been having elevated blood pressures more than normal, so my nurse looked worried but kept it professional because she did not want me to be in more stress than my body was already in. I knew something was wrong so I texted my Doula and she guided me through everything. I told her everything the nurses and doctors told me and she completely comfort me. The doctors told me I was headed towards preeclampsia so they wanted to induce me for me and baby health. I said whatever is going to help me and my baby. My Doula told me she was on the way after she made her arrangements. My Doula printed out the birth plan we both created and handed it to the nurse who was caring for me. My Doula was sooo amazing which made my labor easy. She helped with with exercises like bouncing on the ball, walking, breathing, [acupressure] etc. I did not want to get the epidural but I was extremely exhausted I had no time for anything because I never made it home from my appointment. My doula knew exactly what I needed and when I needed it she gave me lots of water and snacks as needed. I couldn't bear the contractions so I got the epidural, went to sleep and the nurses had to wake me up to have my baby boy. My water was still intact so after the doctor broke, it baby was coming so fast I told them I had to push. They told me to wait and I tried so hard but my body told me to push I pushed 1 and half of a push my baby was out. I delivered my baby boy on February 1st 2023 at 11:06PM and he weighed 6lbs 2 oz. I just want to give a special shoutout to my doula for making my labor and delivery easy. I will recommend everyone to her. She is the best and have a pure heart of gold. Thank you Melody for always taking that extra mile to make sure my labor was amazing!!!" -Tauri
